Young families in Hawkesdale are set to benefit as Gayle Tierney, Member for Western Victoria today congratulated the Hawkesdale & District Family Services Centre which will receive the Andrews Labor Government’s minor infrastructure and IT grants.
A total of $1.22 million in grants will assist kinders across Victoria upgrade their facilities and IT.
The Hawkesdale service is set to receive the funding as part of the 2016-17 Children’s Facilities Capital Program.
These grants mean Victoria’s early years teachers and educators are supported, and that more children have access to high-quality early learning services.
The Hawkesdale & District Family Services Centre will receive a grant of $5450 for playground upgrades and refurbishments, which can be used to improve access for children of all abilities.
The grant is part of the Andrews Labor Government’s $60 million investment in the early childhood sector through the building and upgrading of kindergartens and children’s centres.
The Government is also delivering $83.7 million over four years to support improved educator-to-child ratios from 2016.
