Gayle Tierney MP spoke in State Parliament today urging the Baillieu government to honour election promises and come good with funding commitments to local sporting clubs.
“The coalition promised hundreds of thousands of dollars to sporting clubs in the South Barwon electorate leading into the November election, enough time has passed, now they need to come good with the money,” Ms Tierney said.
Ms Tierney outlined to the Legislative Council what the Coalition promised including:
– The Torquay Football Netball Club – $200,000
– The South Barwon Football Netball Club – $200,000
– The Barwon Soccer Club – $400,000
– The Grovedale Football Netball Club – $200,000
“Our sporting clubs want to be in a position now to plan, develop and build improvements to their facilities.
“They need certainty and they deserve what was promised.
“That is why I have called on the Baillieu Government to honour these commitments in Parliament today.
“Mr Katos needs to make sure funding for these projects at the very least is in the May State Budget,” Ms Tierney said.
