The Andrews Labor Government is improving access to bus services in Torquay and Jan Juc.
Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney announced that the Labor Government is investing $120,000 to upgrade bus parking bays and widen roads to make it safer and easier for locals to get around.
A new paved bus bay will be built next to the Surf Coast Highway near Hillside Drive in Torquay, including improved footpath connections to make it safer for people to get where they need to go.
Strathmore Drive in Jan Juc will also be widened to create a bus layover area to improve safety, traffic flow and access to the nearby bus stop.
It follows extensive community consultation on the Regional Network Development Plan (RNDP) – Victoria’s first ever long-term strategy for better regional public transport.
The projects will be delivered by the Surf Coast Shire Council in line with their schedule of works and are expected to be complete by mid-2017.
