More local roads, bridges and intersections will be upgraded across regional and rural Victoria as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s Fixing Country Roads Program, meaning safer and more reliable journeys for drivers.
Glenelg Shire Council has secured a portion of the $70 million in second round funding for additional road improvement projects.
This funding will support council to complete road repairs, shoulder widening and drainage improvements on Heath Road at Portland and Bridgewater Lakes Road at Bridgewater to provide a safer journey for drivers.
Round one projects are on track for completion by mid-2019, while round two projects must be delivered by June 2020.
