Adult learners in Camperdown will have access to a more modern learning environment, thanks to a $5,000 boost from the Brumby Government.
Announcing the funding today, Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney said the State Equipment Grant would help Corangamite District Adult Education Group with the purchase of two Electronic Mobile Whiteboards with Thermal Paper Printer.
“This new equipment will help Corangamite District Adult Education Group increase opportunities for adult education in Camperdown and improve access for adult learners with special needs,” Ms Tierney said.
“Through the State Equipment Grants program, the Brumby Government is providing $4 million over two years to help adult learning providers across the state purchase modern learning resources and administrative equipment.
Since 1999, the Brumby Government has invested an additional $1.1 billion in Vocational Education and Training.
“Corangamite District Adult Education Group is one of 335 adult learning providers to share in $2 million in the first round of State Equipment Grants,” she said.
Minister for Skills and Workforce Participation, Jacinta Allan, said providing lifelong learning opportunities for Victorian adults contributed to their social, economic and cultural development as individuals and members of the Victorian community.
“The Brumby Government is increasing opportunities for adults right across the state to develop their skills, gain qualifications and improve their employment options,” Ms Allan said.
“Higher levels of skills and education are fundamental in building a strong economic future in communities across Victoria.”
