Terang CFA will be better equipped to fight fire and protect the local community with a new state-of-the-art $1.3 million fire station.
Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney represented the Minister for Emergency Services Jane Garrett at today’s official opening of the new station.
Built by MKM Constructions Ballarat, it includes two administration offices, a breathing
apparatus room to clean equipment, a meeting room, communications room, upgraded kitchen, laundry and separate male and female change rooms.
The new station also features three truck bays and a drive-through entry and exit, meaning no reversing is required to exit the facility.
The station replaces the old High Street building that had served the brigade for almost 60
years.
The Terang Fire Brigade has 22 members and responds to up to 50 incidents a year.
