The new purpose built VicRoads Customer Service Centre at 10 Scott Street, Colac was officially opened today by the Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney.
The new facility, leased by VicRoads, has been purposely designed and built to meet the growing demand for VicRoads services in the area.
“The centre has a completely new fit-out that meets government standards including the incorporation of energy and water saving technologies and will service the Colac community for many years to come – it’s great to see,” Ms Tierney said today.
“This new Centre is a great commitment to the local Colac community.
“While the new centre will provide the same services previously available at the old centre having a dedicated site for the VicRoads services will make it much easier for locals to access those services.
“The new office will provide services including the registration of vehicles, boats and trailers, license testing and an array of counter services including licence renewal and number plate sales.
“The old Centre was too small to fully meet the needs of the local community and the Brumby Government is ensuring Colac residents have access to quality VicRoads services.”
A range of VicRoads transactions are also available online at www.vicroads.vic.gov.au or by calling the Customer Call Centre on 13 11 71.
Ms Tierney said that the Brumby Government was taking action to improve VicRoads service standards across the State.
“We are providing $16 million to boost VicRoads’ service capacity and we are opening new customer service centres, installing extra phone lines to help with telephone queries, recruiting additional staff and providing more online services,” she said.
“It’s part of our commitment to help residents in regional communities access VicRoads services in a timely and convenient fashion.”
