On another note, the new regional youth hub in Warrnambool held its first official event last week, boosting opportunities for local young people to participate in the community. The Andrews Labor government is providing $450 000 over two years for the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVic) to operate the new centre, which will be co-located with other local services at Brophy Family and Youth Services. The first event included a training session about YACVic’s online youth engagement portal and a meeting of the Youth Participation Practice Network, with the minister in attendance. This important network brings together youth practitioners from across the region to collaborate on best practice to support young people in Warrnambool and outlying areas.
