Works have begun on the multi-million dollar community development, the Pride of Melton, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney visited the site today and said the major civic upgrade would benefit the entire community.
The project includes an amphitheatre upgrade, courthouse café deck, landscaping, signage, seating, footpaths and paving, lighting, interactive art, public WIFI and traffic flow measures.
The second stage of the Pride of Melton works will improve pedestrian and bicycle access, generate employment and retail opportunities, create a place for events, play, relaxation,
performance, outdoor dining and a safer precinct for all.
Melton is one of Victoria’s fastest growing municipalities, with rapid growth expected to continue into the next 20 years.
The funds for this project are part of Andrews Labor Government’s $50 million Growing Suburbs Fund, previously known as the Interface Growth Fund, which targets high priority projects in Victoria’s 10 interface councils.
The Growing Suburbs Fund helps the booming outer communities build local facilities such as family and community centres, town centres, parks and reserves and playgrounds.
