Another 1100 desperate Victorians have joined the housing waiting list after Denis Napthine failed to build new public and social housing.
Portland recorded a 21.82 per cent increase over the last three months, with an extra 12 people now waiting for housing in Portland.
There are now over 35,000 people waiting for accommodation, including almost 10,000 on the most urgent waiting list.
Quotes attributable to Ms Tierney:
“Vulnerable families on the brink of homelessness are getting locked out of the system.”
“The Napthine Government has made it harder to apply for housing, harder to stay in housing and has reduced the amount of public housing available.”
“More women and children in Portland are without accommodation and living in danger.”
• The Napthine Government has not invested in new public and social housing.
• Minister Lovell’s framework, announced recently, will reduce the amount of public housing available to Victorians in need.
