Terang Harness Racing Club will be the place to be this Saturday 15 February with top harness racing and fun for the family thanks to a funding package worth more than $41,000.
Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney announced today that the Andrews Labor Government is kicking in more than $15,000 from its Victorian Racing Industry Fund – Raceday Attraction Program to support the Terang Pacing and Trotters Cups meeting.
Terang Harness Racing Club is investing almost $24,000 towards the meeting and Harness Racing Victoria is kicking in $1,800.
Racegoers can look forward to free entry to a top program of night racing with a quality field lined up for the feature races; the $60,000 Terang Pacing Cup and $14,500 Terang Trotters Cup.
Patrons will also get to enjoy a range of fun, family activities including live music, clowns, jumping castle, face painting, MC, and stilt walkers.
Since December 2014, the Labor Government has provided more than $55,000 to support four harness events and three infrastructure projects for the Terang Harness Racing Club.
The harness racing industry in Regional Victoria generates more than $250 million for the Victorian economy and helps sustain over 2,100 full time equivalent jobs locally.
